YORK, Va. – Two white males reportedly impersonating plainclothes police officers pulled over a man driving along the interstate and stole his car, Virginia State Police said.

A trooper was sent to investigate multiple reports Tuesday, Dec. 6, of a man waving down traffic on westbound I-64 at the 238 mile marker in York County.

The male victim alleged that he was stopped by a dark colored Ford vehicle with blue lights mounted in the windshield. Upon stopping he was approached by two white males in plain clothes.

When he exited the vehicle as commanded, one of the two white males entered the vehicle and drove off with the vehicle. The victim was driving a four-door 2017 Chevy Impala with New Jersey registration of P63HBP. The victim was left unharmed on the shoulder of the interstate.

Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations was called to the scene and are currently handling the on-going investigation.

State Police is seeking any information from passing motorist who witnessed this incident or have seen the victims vehicle (2017 Chevy Impala, NJ reg.#P63HBP) to contact (757) 424-6800 with information.
