RICHMOND, Va. – A local radio station and the Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL) want to help kids experience the joy of getting a bike on Christmas Day.
The cost of purchasing a bicycle is a major obstacle for many families living in the Richmond area, so K95 partnered with Henrico PAL to create a “Bike Drive for Kids.”
“We want to provide new bikes for kids who otherwise would not be receiving gifts this Christmas,” said a representative with Summit Media. “We are encouraging our listeners to purchase a bike for a child in need while out shopping this holiday season. The K95 Bicycle Drive is designed to benefit children of all ages from low-income homes.”
Listeners are encouraged to stop by the Target in Short Pump where morning show hosts Lori and Billy D will broadcast their show live on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9.
It won’t be any ordinary live broadcast, either. Both Lori and Billy D will be riding stationary bikes during the entire show.
Bike donations can be made at the Target in Short Pump, at 11290 W Broad St, from December 8 -11, or the morning of Dec. 12 during the live broadcast.
