CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A pregnant Chesterfield woman says thieves made away with thousands during a daytime robbery in Chesterfield County last month.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, says it happened when she pulled into her Snowbird Drive driveway on November 21.

The mother to be says she heard someone banging on her backdoor with bricks. That’s when she says two men ran from behind her house, shoved her into an SUV, snatched her purse and ran away through the woods.

The Chesterfield woman says the thieves didn’t just get away with a few bucks. They stole over $6,000 she was going to use to pay off a car loan and buy Christmas presents.

“I know that the money is gone now,” she said. “I’m sure the boys were only anticipating on $40, $60, maybe $100, they got a big surprise when they opened that purse.”

The incident has also shaken up the soon-to-be mom, who has now been ordered to bed rest because of stress.

The robbery even caused nearby Salem Elementary and Middle School to temporarily be put on lockdown while K-9s searched the area.

The two suspects in the case are still at large. Both suspects are described as teen males.
