CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The Chesterfield County cancer survivor who got her big break on stage with Garth Brooks last month is now in the studio recording an album.

CBS 6 caught up Danielle El-Jor at a local studio Tuesday as she worked on four original songs for an album that she plans to send to Nashville for a record deal.

Danielle's story went viral after she performed on stage with Garth Brooks at the Richmond Coliseum.

The country music superstar invited Danielle to sing with him after he heard she missed a chance to audition for “The Voice,” because she was battling stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Danielle says she's very excited and grateful for everything that's happened since that unforgettable moment.

“Everything’s been so quick. I mean Carrie Underwood tweeted me and then she shared it on her Facebook page,” said Danielle. “Never in a million years did I think my idol, Carrie Underwood, would watch me sing.”

Now, the Midlothian High School graduate is working on a four song demo.

Danielle says the album is a collaboration between her and a man named "Buck" who works with Sony Records.

"Buck decided that he was going to be the most perfect human in the world and come play for me and we've been singing for four days together and we already have four original songs," she said.

“Something just clicked, it was amazing,” said the singer, songwriter. ”It’s been super easy to work together and everyone has been like a big family already, and it’s only been a week.”

Danielle says her album will hopefully be released by this Christmas. After its release, she hopes to go to Nashville and shop her music to labels there.

“It’s all in God’s hands,” Danielle said. “So we will see where it goes from here.”
