Police ID man, woman killed in Louisa crash

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police identified two people killed in a Tuesday crash as Michael A. Martin, 28 of Fluvanna County, and Wendy A. McDaniel, 21 of Scottsville.

Martin was driving the 2009 Ford Focus that went through the intersection at Jordon Store Road and Mallory Road in Louisa and struck an embankment.

“Speed is considered a factor in the crash which remains under investigation,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said.

Both Martin and McDaniel died at the scene. Neither was wearing seat belts, according to investigators.

The crash was reported at 6:08 p.m.
