Gunman wears camo head covering during Hopewell robbery

HOPEWELL, Va. — Police are looking for a man who wore a camouflage head covering and camouflage pants while robbing a Hopewell store.

The robbery was reported Sunday at 9:11 p.m. at the Golden Express convenience store at 100 South 15th Avenue.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the lone offender entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk,” a Hopewell Police spokesman said. “After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, the offender then fled the business on foot. No persons were harmed during the incident.”

Police described the robber as a 5’8″ – 6′ tall white male with a medium build.

“He was last seen wearing a camouflage full head covering, camouflage pants, a dark colored jacket or sweat shirt, hiking boots, blue latex gloves and in possession of a silver in color handgun,” police said.
