Daycare van driver charged in crash with children on board

RICHMOND, Va. — A daycare van driver was charged with Disregarding a Red Light following a Monday morning crash in Richmond.

Four children on the van at the time of the crash were not hurt.

Police said the Friends Association for Children van driver ran a red light, entered the intersection at Lombardy and Brook Road, and struck an SUV.

The driver of the SUV was treated on the scene.

A second van arrived to take the children to the daycare.
