Missing Fairfax woman found safe

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — State police said Saturday evening that an 84-year-old woman missing since Friday has been located.

Carol Westerman was last seen on the 6600 block of Wakefield Drive in Alexandria around noon.

Police said she drove away in a silver 1999 Chevrolet Prism and suffers from a medical issue and her disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety.

Fairfax County Police Department officials posted on Facebook just before 6:30 p.m. that Westerman was found and returned home safely.

“Thank you to all that were concerned,” officials said.
