Sunoco store clerk brutally murdered in Spotsylvania

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- Sheriff's deputies have apprehended a "person of interest" after a clerk at a gas station was fatally attacked early Saturday morning in Spotsylvania County.

Police say that at approximately 1:35 a.m., a suspect entered the Sunoco Station on the 5300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. After several minutes, the suspect brutally attacked and killed the 54-year-old store clerk.

The man's identity is not being released at this time.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff's deputies and detectives are currently conducting a forensic examination of the crime scene. They have also released a photo of the suspect that was recovered from the Sunoco's security system.
