Rain on Thanksgiving is not very common in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — As a system brings some showers through the area today, Richmond weather history shows that Thanksgiving is usually a fairly dry day.

blog-3 Rain occurs on only about one-quarter of Thanksgivings.  Snow is pretty rare, although we did see accumulating snow in 1989.

High temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s fall right in line with the majority of the previous years.  It was in the upper 60s last year.

While we do have very warm or pretty cold Thankgiving Days occasionally, we typically have highs in the upper 50s.
