COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- Dinner rolls probably are not the first thing that come to mind when you think of Thanksgiving Dinner, but for the Golden Corral in Colonial Heights, it is a big job.

In fact, the location brought in extra workers just to meet the demand for the bread.

The restaurant's manager told WTVR CBS 6 that people came from all around Central Virginia just to take home their dinner rolls.

They said they have been swamped with orders for rolls, which have quickly become a family tradition for some.

“Today we'll send out 12,000 rolls versus a normal day we'll send out 120 rolls,” manager Mike Edwards said. “In addition to that, we got to be ready for extra rolls in the restaurant, so we're probably looking at a total of 16,000 rolls today.”

Edwards said their largest order for the bread Thursday was 30 dozen rolls for a church group.
