RICHMOND, Va. -- The storm system that brought a huge temperature change and strong wind gusts will move away from our area heading into Monday.

High pressure will build across the area Monday and Tuesday, keeping the weather cool and mostly clear.  A storm system will get closer to our region on Wednesday, increasing the clouds during the afternoon and evening.  There will be a few showers possible later Wednesday night through about midday on Thanksgiving as the cold front passes.  As of now, it looks like we will dry out for the afternoon as highs return to around 60°.

For Wednesday's big travel day, it will be dry across Virginia and much of the Mid-Atlantic.  The storm to the west will bring some showers for parts of the Great Lakes down into the lower Mississippi River valley.

Snow will occur across the western Great Lakes and upper Midwest.  A new storm will bring showers to the west coast and snow to the higher elevations. blog-9

Locally, we will have that chance of showers the first half of Thanksgiving Day, but travel weather will be dry Thursday evening into Friday and much of next weekend.  A shower is possible on Sunday.
