CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. -- A man was killed walking along Jefferson Davis Highway in Caroline County Sunday night, according to Virginia State Police.
"A pedestrian was walking in the right southbound travel lane when he was struck by a 2001 GMC Yukon. The roadway is not lit and the pedestrian was not wearing any reflective clothing," Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said. "The pedestrian and elderly white male died at the scene, his body was transported to the office of chief medical examiner for positive identification and autopsy."
The crash was reported at about 8:38 p.m. Sunday.
Virginia State Police continue to investigate the incident.
