81-year-old wounded in South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. --- An elderly man is recovering after being wounded in an overnight shooting in Richmond's Southside.

According to police, the suspect shot and wounded a man in the 4900 block of Orcutt Lane sometime after 10:00 pm Saturday night.

Paramedics took the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Relatives of the victim tell CBS 6 that he is an 81-year-old man who suffered gunshot wounds to both of his arms and his stomach.

Police have not announced any suspects and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
