For the third straight year, the Hermitage Panthers beat the Henrico Warriors in the opening round of the 5A South playoffs.  This year was a 31-13 Panther victory, subdued by the loss of senior quarterback Woody Windborn with a broken leg late in the 2nd quarter.

Jordan Hall ran for 97 yards and a touchdown and Christian Velazquez caught 2 TD passes in the win, one from Winborn and one from backup James Carney.

Winborn was tackled near the sideline in the 2nd quarter by De'Andre Walker who caught Winborn's leg underneath him as he dragged Winborn down. Several Panther players were visibly upset on the sideline as Winborn's left leg was placed in an air cast and he was taken off in an ambulance.

Before leaving the game, Winborn completed 9 of 11 passes for 151 yards and a score. Alex Burton also nailed a 44 yard field goal in the win.

Hermitage (10-1) will host L.C. Bird next week. Henrico's season ends at 6-5
