Insider details shooting during attempted Henrico home invasion

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A woman was injured Sunday night after being shot in the kneecap during an attempted Henrico home invasion.

Henrico Police were called to an apartment in the 5600 block of Crenshaw Road for a shooting at about 10:30 p.m.

Police sources said the incident started when an unknown woman knocked on a man’s door. At that time, sources say, that woman and another man tried forcing their way into the apartment.

In an effort to keep the door shut, the man in the apartment dropped to the floor to keep the door closed.

That when sources say the suspects fired shots through the door.

Police sources say a woman inside the apartment grabbed her gun and tried shooting at the suspects but she was shot in the knee and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

She was transported to an area hospital for treatment by rescue squad.

The male and female suspects fled the scene on foot towards Wilmer Ave. The suspects are only described as a black female and a black male.

Anyone with information about the home invasion and shooting was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.

‘Soul Patch Bandit’ wanted for 3 Richmond area bank robberies

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a serial bank robber dubbed the “Soul Patch Bandit” by the FBI.

Investigators believe the suspect struck again Monday at approximately 12:23 p.m.

Colonial Heights Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Union First Mark Bank inside of Martin’s located at 3107 Boulevard.

An employee reported the suspect walked up to the counter and passed a note demanding money and advising he had a gun.

After receiving the cash the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties, approximately 6’ 1’’ to 6’ 2’’ tall, with a slim build, and a thin mustache, beard, and goatee.

The “Soul Patch Bandit” was seen wearing a black and red cap, a dark hoodie (blue or black), black rimmed glasses, and a watch with a brown band.

The Colonial Heights Police Department and the FBI believe the suspect is possibly responsible for three recent bank robberies in the Richmond area.
