RICHMOND, Va. -- Temperatures for the majority of this week will be fairly close to normal. There will be some occasional temperature swings, but nothing as significant as recent weeks when we had highs well into the 80s.
This will change at the end of the week when a strong cold front arrives. There won't be much moisture with the front, but it will be the leading edge of some cold Canadian air.
This colder air mass will settle in for next weekend, and will arrive in conjunction with the Richmond Marathon.
Race temperatures will start in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Highs Saturday afternoon will reach the low and mid 50s.
There could be some lows in the 20s Saturday night, and highs will stay in the 50s next Sunday. As of now, it looks like next weekend will be dry.
