NEW CASTLE, Ind. -- The city of New Castle came together on Tuesday night to give a little girl the Halloween experience she missed out on this year.

Cailynn Richards, 4, wasn’t able to trick-or-treat Monday because she was attacked by a neighbor’s dog that afternoon, according to WXIN.

Cailynn’s mom says the little girl is OK, but she was very upset when she woke up Tuesday and realized she’d missed out on the festivities.

New Castle residents gathered in costume along 12th Street starting at 6 p.m. to pass out candy to her.

As for the dog attack, Cailynn’s mother says they don’t plan to press charges.

The dog is currently in quarantine, according to WXIN.
