Man injured after crashing car into main gate of Naval Station Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. – A man was taken to the hospital after crashing into the main gate of Naval Station Norfolk early Sunday morning.

According to Norfolk Police, officers tried to stop a dark Nissan on Hampton Boulevard near Terminal Boulevard.

The driver sped away, causing officers to lose sight of the car.

The  driver then crashed his car into Gate 1 of Naval Station Norfolk.

Paramedics took him to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

No one else was in the car at the time.
