Redskins robber pulls gun on Richmond cabbie

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are looking for a man who wore a Washington Redskins sweatshirt while he attempted to rob a Richmond taxi cab driver.

“Shortly before 8 a.m. [Friday], the taxi cab driver picked up a man in the 2900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. He drove the man to the 1300 block of Nelson Street, where the man displayed a silver and gray handgun and began to struggle with the driver. The driver was not injured during the incident. The suspect fled on foot into the Wynwood Apartments,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said.

Police described the gunman as a black male, 5’8”- 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds.

“He wore a Redskins sweatshirt, light blue pants or jeans and a stocking hat,” the police spokesperson added.
