Shot fired into Chesterfield home during attempted robbery

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob another man at gunpoint in Chesterfield County.

The crime happened at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday outside an apartment along the 5500 block of Markview Lane, police said.

The gunman walked up to the victim who was standing at the door of his home, pulled out a gun, and demanded money, police said.

The victim struggled with the gunman for control of the weapon, police said.

One shot was fired in the home, police said. No one was struck and the gunman ran away.

Police described the gunman as a black man in his early to mid-twenties. He was described as 6', medium build, and wearing all black clothing.
