RICHMOND, Va. — The bomb squad was called to 7th and Main Streets in downtown Richmond Wednesday morning to investigate a suspicious package.

Two suitcases tied to a bench prompted the emergency response a few blocks from the Virginia State Capitol at 9th and Main.

It was later determined the suitcase were not a threat.

Traffic was blocked in the area. Cars on East Franklin Street were being stopped at North 6th Street.
