HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – Hanover investigators have arrested two people in connection with separate grand larceny incidents and larcenies from vehicles earlier this month.

A 15-year-old juvenile from Richmond has been charged with grand larceny in connection to the larceny of a vehicle that occurred in the Hanover Grove subdivision on October 13, 2006.

After the incident, deputies said multiple unlocked vehicles in the neighborhood had been rummaged through.

Investigators said the teen was taken into custody the next day and the stolen vehicle has been recovered. The teen has been transported to the Richmond Juvenile Detention Center.

In connection to a separate investigation, Timothy Garnett Covington, 32, of Richmond, has been arrested and charged with one count of Grand Larceny and two counts of Larceny — 3rd offense in connection to larcenies from vehicles that occurred in the Hanover Crossings Apartment complex.

That incident also happened on October 12, and into the early morning hours of October 13.

Investigators do not believe the two incidents are related at this time.

Covington is being held without bond and is currently incarcerated at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.

“I am extremely proud of the teamwork displayed between our deputies and investigators, working together to identify victims and quickly apprehend these suspects. Because of their quick work, investigators were able to recover most of the stolen property,” said Colonel David R. Hines, sheriff.

Anyone with further information about these incidents is asked to contact the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 365-6140 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637 (CRIMES), using the keyword “iTip” followed by their tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
