The Richmond Spiders will get a clear understanding of where they stand in the CAA in the next three games.  They past the first test on Homecoming Saturday with a 23-0 win over Villanova.

The Spiders defense recorded their 2nd shutout this season, limiting the Wildcats to just 222 yards of total offense, 129 of them through the air.

Former Hermitage standout Brian Brown had seven catches for 120 yards and a touchdown.  Quarterback Kyle Lauletta was an efficient 17-26 for 218 yards, a touchdown and no turnovers.

Meanwhile JMU remained undefeated in the CAA with a 42-39 win over New Hampshire.  The Wildcats made it interesting scoring 27 points in the fourth quarter but they couldn't recover an onside kick with under 90 seconds to go.

William and Mary won their first CAA game of the season by beating Delaware 24-17.  The Tribe outscored the Blue Hens 21-3 in the fourth quarter behind Aaron Swinton's 63 yard interception return for a touchdown.

Virginia State had their three game winning streak snapped at Bowie State 38-37.  Bulldogs quarterback Amir Hill threw for over 300 yards and accounted for five touchdowns in the win.
