HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Homes in one East Henrico neighborhood were evacuated after what was believed to be a cache of ammunition and explosives were discovered in a shed at an abandoned home Sunday afternoon.
Lt. Sperry with Henrico police said a person was cleaning out the shed at a home in the 2700 block of Carlise Avenue when they made the discovery.
As a result, Sparry said nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.
However, when military crews arrived, they discovered the contents were actually explosive covers.
Everyone was allowed back inside their homes.
