Hermitage quarterback Woody Winborn accounted for all four Panther scores in a 28-7 win that handed the Lancers their first loss of the season. Winborn completed 10 of his 20 passing attempts for 125 yards and two scores, and ran for another 126 yards and 2 scores. Running back Jordan hall had a touchdown catch and ran for 60 yards.

But it was the Hermitage defense that carried most of the night. They harassed Lancers QB Brendan Clarke into an 18 for 39 passing line with 188 yards, a TD and an interception. The Lancers advanced into the Panther red zone five different times and came away with only one score.

"That was the story of the game" said Hermitage head coach Patrick Kane. "Our defensive line can really get after the football. They showed a lot of character and courage when the offense was sputtering early on. They kept bucking up and getting it done."

The Panthers are now 6-1 on the season and a perfect 3-0 alltime against the Lancers (6-1). They are on the road at Mills Godwin next week. Manchester is also on the road next week at Clover Hill.
