PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- Nikki-Dee learned a traditional Czech and Slovak dance to prepare for the Virginia Czech & Slovak Folklife Festival.
The festival, which will take place at the Prince George County Regional Heritage Center, is scheduled from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 15.
"The event features the Czech & Slovak communities in Petersburg and Prince George County, and showcases the music, dances, food and customs brought here by the Czech & Slovak families who settled on abandoned farms after the Civil War and whose ancestors call those areas home," according to an event spokerperson ."It also features farm and family history displays."
