HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Investigators are looking into multiple car-related crimes reported in Mechanicsville’s Hanover Grove subdivision.

“Deputies responded to the 8300 block of Plum Grove Drive, the Hanover Grove subdivision in Mechanicsville [on Thursday], for a larceny from a vehicle. While on scene, deputies discovered that multiple unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through in the same neighborhood but nothing else was reported missing,” Hanover Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. James Cooper said. “Deputies then responded to the 8200 block of Soft Wind Court, also in the Hanover Grove subdivision, for the report of two stolen vehicles. While deputies were on scene, a stolen vehicle out of the City of Richmond was located and recovered.”

Deputies were then called to the 9200 block of Hanover Crossings Drive, in another neighborhood, where again someone broke into and stole from multiple unlocked cars.

“Investigators continue to process evidence and are seeking suspects in these cases,” Cooper said. “The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office reminds its citizens to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables. This is a crime of opportunity. We once again request that any citizen that lives in the area where these crimes were committed and has an exterior security camera, to please check their footage and contact the Sheriff’s Office if anything suspicious is noticed.”

Anyone with information was asked to call the Hanover Sheriff’s Office at 804-365-6140 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
