CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Beach Road reopened to traffic at about 6:30 a.m. Friday, more than 10 hours after a crash shutdown the area near Nash Road.
"A Nissan sedan was traveling east on Beach Road when it went off the road on the right side, lost control and struck a utility pole," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said about the Thursday night crash. "The utility pole snapped, causing various utility lines to fall across all lanes of Beach Road. No one was injured in the crash."
The crash was reported at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
More than 1,600 Dominion Virginia Power customers lost electricity as a result of the crash. Nearly everyone had their lights back on by Friday morning.
