ROCKVILLE, Va. – A Henrico family coping with the struggle of Epilepsy is participating in a local bike ride to raise awareness and money for research for the seizure disorder.
Elizabeth Dalton has Epilepsy and says there are daily challenges.
The 22-year-old and her family hold out hope that experts will uncover new therapies to stop seizures, find cures and save lives.

That's also the hope of the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia.
On October 15 the organization will host the Tour de Midnight, a bike race to raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy research.
Elizabeth's dad and supporters will represent Team RVA in her honor.
So far, that team has raised $8500 for the cause.
Elizabeth had to leave James Madison University because of her seizures, but has now enrolled in school in Richmond to become a nurse.
She wants to raise awareness about how Epilepsy impacts families.
"I think it has also been a struggle for our family with the seizures and our dealing with my inability to drive a car. It has been a long road and a hard one but it has been a growing experience," she explained.
She encourages everyone to join Saturday's Tour de Midnight bike ride.
Participants will either complete a 35 or 65-mile ride.
The race isn’t actually at midnight, but will be held at the Midnight Brewery in Rockville, Virginia.
The race will begin at 10 a.m.
Online registration continues through October 13 and riders can also sign up on Saturday morning.
The public is encouraged to cheer on riders and after the race at Midnight Brewery there will be live bands, food trucks, and family activities.
