CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — One person was killed in a fiery crash in Chesterfield County.
The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was killed when the car ran off East Hundred Road (Route 10) and hit a tree at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
“The sedan was traveling east when it left the road, struck a sign, and caught fire,” a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. “The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time pending notification of the next of kin.”
The single-vehicle accident happened along the 2300 block of East Hundred Road, not far from Spruce Avenue and Enon Elementary School.
The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
