Spiders sets school record in home win over Towson

The Richmond Spiders improved to 4-1 on the season and set a school record with their 10th straight home win after beating Towson 31-28.  Freshman running back Xavier Goodall, former Henrico standout, rushed for a game high 128 yards and had a receiving touchdown.  Quarterback David Broadus scored the game winning touchdown on a fake field goal try with over 10 minutes left.

JMU is now 4-1 on the year after a 43-20 win over Delaware.  Khalid Abdullah rushed for 159 yards, his fourth straight game of over 100 yards rushing, and two touchdowns.

William and Mary fell to 0-2 in the CAA after New Hampshire beat them 21-12.

In the ACC, the Virginia Cavaliers won their 2nd straight and snapped a 17 game road losing streak dating back to November of 2012 with a 34-20 win at Duke.  The Cavs won for the first time in Durham since 2006.

And in the CIAA, Virginia Union won their 3rd in a row after starting the season 0-2 after a 50-21 win over St. Augustine.  Former Highland Springs standout and current Falcons quarterback D.J. Johnson threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
