HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The Henrico Humane Society's 9th annual Bark in the Park Saturday morning at Deep Run Park raised nearly 32,000 for homeless animals.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes, along with their human companions, came out to raise money and have a blast with a wide range of activities like the 2K dog walk, trick demonstrations and a costume contest.

There was something for all ages and the event benefited a great cause.

”We have two main fundraisers a year, and Bark in the Park is the second biggest fundraiser for Henrico Humane Society, so all of our operations are funded through donations, adoption fees and fundraising efforts,” said Melissa Golden with the Henrico Humane Society. “So that’s why this event is so important that we raise money to mostly help cover medical expense for the animals we rescue every year."

WTVR CBS 6 anchor and reporter Greg McQuade served as the emcee again for this year.
