RICHMOND, Va. -- A teenager was shot and suffered life-threatening injuries overnight in Richmond.
Richmond Police were called to the 1100 block of Sumpter Street, around the corner from Maymont Elementary School, at about 2 a.m. after neighbors heard gunshots.
Upon arrival, police found the shooting victim who they described as a juvenile under the age of 18.
The shooting victim was rushed to VCU Medical Center.
Police have not yet released information about the shooting victim's condition.
Police have also not yet discussed a suspect or motive in the Wednesday morning shooting.
