RICHMOND, Va. — A storm system will increase the chances for thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening. Due to the atmospheric set-up, a few strong to severe storms will be possible. The best window for the stronger storms will be between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., although some storms will continue into the overnight hours.
The main threat from these storms will be damaging winds of 60+ mph. However, conditions do support the chance for an isolated tornado or two. Storms will also produce very heavy rainfall.
