2 men wanted for strong-armed robbery near VCU parking deck

RICHMOND, Va. -- VCU Police are asking for the public's help to identify two men wanted for a strong-armed robbery on Broad Street early Sunday morning.

Police said the crime happened around 4:50 a.m. in the 1100 block of W. Broad Street near the VCU's parking garage.

The victim told police he was walking eastbound on Broad when the suspects approached him.

Police said when one of the suspects tried to talk to him, he was hit from behind by the second suspect and knocked to the ground.

The suspects, who were last seen running west on Broad Street and south on Harrison Street, stole the victim’s wallet.

The victim was not injured.

VCU police released photos Sunday evening from the school's security camera system showing the suspects closing in on the victim.

The first suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a black and white hooded sweatshirt, jeans and light-colored sneakers.
