Body found near West Franklin Street building

RICHMOND, Va. — A death investigation is underway after a body was discovered outside a building on West Franklin Street in downtown Richmond.

Police were called to the 300 block of West Franklin Street, near North Monroe Street, at about 7 a.m., to investigate.

Police sources indicated the death was likely a suicide.

The body was found next to a building that was under construction.

Police have not identified the person who died.
