LOUISA COUNTY, Va. – A Louisa woman was found safe in Spotsylvania after she was abducted at gunpoint Thursday morning, by her ex-boyfriend.

Lisa Crane was found with Russell Jefferies, off Route 208, deputies said. She is reported to be safe and not harmed.

Jefferies was transported back to Louisa, deputies said. It is unclear at this time with what he will be charged.

When he arrived in Louisa, he told reporters; "God is good."

Deputies said that Crane, a 47-year-old bus driver, had finished her route Thursday and was dropping off the bus at Johnny Hall Road in Mineral.

Jefferies was waiting there and Crane was taken off the bus at gunpoint.

Dennis Kyle Hill, her 16-year-old son, learned at school Thursday that something terrible had happened to his mom.

"I'm just worried he's going to kill her," he said. "My dad and a detective picked me up at school."

According to deputies, it appears Jefferies was not alone at the time, though deputies did not say if they apprehended more than one suspect on Friday.

"It stems from an ongoing domestic dispute," said Maj. Donny Lowe.  “Ms. Crane was abducted by her ex-boyfriend at gunpoint and dragged to another car where two other men were inside.”

Crane's friend Anna Williams was worried sick because she claims the couple has a history of domestic violence issues.

"I thought she was dead, I really did," Williams said.

As the search stretched into the evening and into early Friday morning, Williams said a big break came when Crane called her from the alleged abductor's cellphone.

"I'm like 'Oh my God and I answered it," Williams said. "I said where are you are you OK?"

"And she said can you come get me," she added. She just stated that it wasn't like everyone thinks it is--that she went willingly and I know she didn't.

Willaims said Crane told her she went willingly.

"....And I know she didn't," Williams said.

Williams immediately contacted investigators who tracked down Jeffries and Crane on route 208 in Spotsylvania.

Her son said they had just moved into a nearby trailer Tuesday, the same day his father was released from jail. The teen believes Jeffries was upset that his mom and dad were getting along again.
