Police ID suspect in downtown bank robbery, ask public to help locate him

RICHMOND, Va. – After numerous tips from the public, the Richmond Police Department have identified the suspect in a Wells Fargo bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect has been identified as Carroll B. Gammon Jr. He has a last known address in the 6800 block of West Carnation Street in Richmond.

Detectives are now asking the public’s assistance to help locate him.

The 40-year-old is the suspect in the robbery of the Wells Fargo bank located at 801 E. Main Street in the downtown Richmond.

Victims tell police the suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers. He claimed to be armed; however, no firearm was displayed.

After the teller complied the suspect fled the scene on foot.

There were no injuries in the robbery.
