Police searching for suspect in downtown Richmond bank robbery

RICHMOND, Va. – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect wanted in a downtown Richmond bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said the robbery happened around 12:45 p.m. at the Wells Fargo bank located at 801 E. Main Street.

Victims tell police the white male suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers. He claimed to be armed; however, no firearm was displayed.

After the teller complied the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 35 years old with short brown hair and a receding hairline. He was seen wearing a light blue shirt, khaki pants and dark-colored shoes at the time of the incident.
