Man dies after car runs off road, hits trees and bursts into flames

KING GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — Officials said a 67-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in King George County Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened in the 16000 block of Round Hill Road around 3:25 p.m.

“A 1998 Nissan Maxima was traveling east on Route 629 when it ran off the road to the left overcorrected right striking a road sign, then back left running off the road striking several trees and catching fire,” Sgt. Steve Vick with Virginia State Police said.

The driver, Glen S. Davis of King George County, died at the scene.

Troopers said the victim was wearing a seat belt.
