Man wearing surgical mask assaults, robs delivery driver at Chesterfield MARTIN’s

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Police are investigating a robbery where a pharmaceutical delivery driver was assaulted and robbed in front of a Chesterfield County MARTIN’s.

Police said the incident happened just after noon on September 7, when a delivery driver was dropping off medication at the MARTIN’s Food and Drugstore located in the 200 Charter Colony Parkway.

That’s when an unknown man sprayed an unknown substance, possibly pepper spray, in the driver’s eyes and took a bin containing medication.

Police said he the suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a silver Dodge minivan.

The victim was checked out by an EMT staff on the scene, but was OK.

Police said the stolen bin was recovered nearby, but the medication inside of it was gone.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 230 pounds. He was seen wearing a black hoodie, tan khaki shorts, sunglasses, white shin-high socks and sneakers. He was also wearing a surgical mask and white gloves.
