GREENSBORO, N.C. — Hours after an AMBER Alert was issued for a pair of missing North Carolina children, the man named as a suspect was located — without the children.

Greensboro Police found Michael Mayo on Wednesday. Officers said Mayo was “very cooperative,” but was not being ruled out as a suspect, WGHP reported.

Police now believe Davion and Neveah McCollum are with their mother Cierra Ralphette McCollum.

Investigators said the mother and children are likely still in or around Greensboro.

One of the children has a medical condition, police added, which is why they need to locate the children as soon as possible.

Davion McCollom was described as a six-year-old black male, approximately 3 feet tall, weighing 50 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Neveah McCollum was described as a two-year-old black female, approximately 2 feet tall, weighing 30 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing yellow hair bows in a ponytail, a white shirt and blue jean shorts.

The AMBER Alert was issued Wednesday after the Department of Social Services visited the children’s home and the children were not there.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Greensboro Police Department immediately at 336-373-2287.
