Amtrak suspends some services due to Hermine’s impact

RICHMOND, Va. -- Amtrak will continue to suspend services Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3 and 4, in the southeast region due to severe weather from tropical storm Hermine.

Routes will continue north of Richmond, but not south.

The service adjustments for Saturday, Sept. 3:

Northeast Regional 66 which travels from Newport News, Va. to  Boston will operate only from Richmond to Boston.

Northeast Regional 71 from New York City to Norfolk, Va. will operate from New York City to Richmond, Va.

Northeast Regional 99 will operate from Boston to Richmond, Va.

The Silver Star 91 and 92 from New York City - Miami and Auto Train 52 and 53 from Lorton, Va.to Sanford, Fla. are cancelled.

The Silver Meteor 97 will resume normal operations from New York City to Miami. The Silver Meteor 98 resume operations between Miami and New York City.

The Palmetto 89 from New York City to Savannah, Ga. will operate between New York City and Washington, D.C.

The Palmetto 90 from Savannah, Ga. to New York City will operate between Washington, D.C. and New York City.

The service adjustments for Sunday, Sept. 4:

Northeast Regional 88 from Norfolk, Va. to Boston will operate between Richmond, Va., to Boston.

Northeast Regional 96 will operate from Richmond, Va. to Boston.

Some Thruway Bus Connections will also be cancelled. No alternate transportation will be provided for the services that are cancelled.
