HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- Children and bikes. They just go together.
A riding event on Saturday, Sept. 17 will give everyone, from the big-time cyclist, to the casual weekend rider a chance to help kids who need one, get a bike.
There are four option, a 102-mile ride, a 65-mile ride, a 34-mile ride, and an 11-mile “family” ride.
Take a listen to my interview with Andrew Mann, about the Heart of Virginia Century ride that starts at the Hanover County Courthouse, and its sponsoring group, the Richmond Area Bicycle Association, or RABA.
Mann is on the foundation board and talks about how money raised from this ride could provide up to 500 children with a new bike.
Won’t you join us and take part? If riding isn’t your thing, you can volunteer and lend a much-appreciated hand.
