HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – A family of four has been displaced after a house fire in the Mechanicsville area of Hanover County Tuesday afternoon.

Fire investigators say crews were dispatched just after noon Tuesday to the house fire in the 7000 block of Trumpetvine Lane.

When crews arrived on the scene, firefighters found a two story home with heavy fire coming through the roof.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes and ensured all occupants were safe and accounted for. No one was injured during the blaze, but a family of four has been displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hanover Fire Marshal’s Office.

Along with working smoke alarms, Hanover Fire-EMS reminds citizens to have a fire escape plan, and to get out and stay out if you have a fire.
