Duck, N.C. suspect on the run; shelter in place lifted

DUCK, N.C. — The shelter in place order has been lifted in the Town of Duck, North Carolina despite the fact the man police were searching for has not yet been caught.

“The Duck Police Department has suspended the multi-agency search for Thomas Jay Corbin and are continuing the cooperative effort to locate the subject,” the town posted on Facebook. “Shelter in place has been lifted.”

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search for Corbin.

Corbin was described as a white male, 5 foot 10 inches, 170 pounds, with blue eyes, and blond hair. He was last seen in the area of Canvasback Drive in Duck.

“The subject was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and black t-shirt,” police said.

Police have not released details into why they want to find Corbin.
