Police identify fourth suspect in shooting near VCU bookstore

RICHMOND, Va. — Police have identified a fourth suspect in a mid-July shooting near the VCU bookstore on West Broad Street, where a man was shot in the back.

Jerric D. Norris AKA “Double J” or “Little J”, 20, of Chesterfield, is wanted on charges of attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the shooting.

Norris is described as a black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 230 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police considered him armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked to not approach him and call police immediately.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of West Broad Street just before 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 16.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told CBS 6 the shooting stemmed from argument after Club 534 mansion let out, but police have not confirmed that information.

Three arrests have already been made in the case.

D-Vonn A. Reaux, 20, of Chesterfield County, turned himself in to authorities at RPD Headquarters on July 26. Reaux was charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Kiante M. Smith, 20, of Chesterfield County, turned himself in Saturday at Second Precinct. He has been charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Montrell Graves, 22, of Chesterfield County, turned himself in at Police Headquarters on August 15. He was charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police says detectives have identified a fifth suspect in the case and their investigation is ongoing.
