RICHMOND, Va. —  Parents who need to take the kids to get their vaccinations can do so at a clinic for Richmond residents on Friday.

The Richmond City Health Department’s annual Back to School Event  for  Richmond residents is Friday, August 26, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Health Department Clinic located at 400 East Cary Street.

For easier access to the clinic, use the Main Street entrance located at the corner of 4th and Main Streets.

No appointment is needed and walk-ins are welcome.

All vaccinations for daycare and school-entry will be available along with the required Tdap booster shot for rising 6th graders. Parents are reminded that 6th graders will not be allowed to attend class without documentation/proof showing that they have received a Tdap vaccination.

Also, free physicals for school-entry and Head-Start as well as sports physicals for middle and high school students will be provided in partnership with the VCU School of Nursing.

Parents must bring their child’s shot record, officials said. Vaccinations are free, but if a parent has insurance, they are asked to bring their insurance card.
