RICHMOND, Va. – Police are investigating multiple car break-ins in the parking lot of a Scott’s Addition gym Monday evening.

The crimes happened in the parking lot of Crunch Fitness, located at 3600 West Broad St.

Investigators didn’t specify how many cars were broken into and what was taken, but there were at least two on the scene with a visual forced entry.

Kim Sherrod, whose car was broken into, said the suspect smashed her back window and took her purse, which contained her wallet, credit cards, and her social security card.

"We sympathize with our members and guests whose cars were affected Monday night. We want to give a big thank you to Richmond Police Department for their quick response and let everyone know we are making every effort to bring the individuals responsible to justice," Crunch general manager Daniel Peele said. "We would also like to take this moment to remind everyone to leave their valuables out of sight to prevent this kind of situation in the future."

There is no suspect description at this time.
